Katinka Nilssen

Katinka Nilssen started her violin studies at the age of four. She currently takes her Bachelor degree at Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. She has performed as soloist on several different occasions, and in 2018 received 1st prize in International Music Competition Young Interprets "Música Callada" and 3rd prize in Fjord Cadenza. In addition, Katinka has also received numerous scholarships, including Ticons Music Scholarship and "Sparebanken Øst Sprang" Culture Scholarship, both in 2018. In 2019 she is one of the participants in the Papillion Project for Valdres Festival, where some of Scandinavia's top young musicians are fronted. She currently plays a violin on loan from the Norwegian national banks subsidiary Dextra Musica.
