Maria Wernberg

The violinist Maria Wernberg was born in Örnsköldsvik with roots on the island of Gotland. She graduated with a Master of Music (solo performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester 2012. Maria received a Bachelor of Music with a first class honours degree from Birmingham Conservatoire 2010. She has   participated in the Virtuoso Violin Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Music Festival, Young Musician Symphony Orchestra, Festival in Piteå. In 2005 Maria received the prestigious award Riksspelman. She is currently living on Gotland, freelancing as a violinist combined with her teaching post at Culture School Gotland.
